How do I post an ad?

  • To post an ad, simply click on the 'place an ad' tab
  • Select your region by clicking on region name
  • Select the appropriate category that matches your item for sale and follow the steps by using our simple drop down menu to pick sub-categories, if applicable
  • Tell potential buyers how much your item costs and if you have any special terms around the sale, by using the dropdown found right next to the price field.
  • Input your ad title and item description - tell us all you want about the item you're selling. You've got a ton of space!
  • Upload your photo. You can upload up to seven photos. Now, we understand that you may not have seven photos, but we strongly encourage you to upload at least one. Buyers like being able to see the product before they buy it.
  • When placing an ad we give you a ton of ad enhancement options that will help your item stand out and gain additional exposure. (Enhancements are subject to fees)

What can I do on as a registered user?

Creating an account with is not mandatory, but it definitely allows you to benefit from some of the conveniences many want when placing classified ads.

Once you have an account with, you will be able to do the following:

  • Save an ad you are placing so that you can come back to it later.
  • Edit an active ad through changing the price, description and photos. You can even add premium enhancements to your already running ad!

If you have an account with we also make it easy for you to update your profile and change passwords if necessary.

How do I increase visibility to my ad?

On, we provide our sellers with tools that are designed to enhance their listings. You can either choose to:

  • Make your ad a 'Featured Listing' - this will give your ad prominent placement on the homepage and related category pages, in a photo slide show that appears at the top of the screen. Your ad will be shown in a rotation.
  • Add multiple photos - add more than one photo to give potential buyers a chance to see your items best features.
  • Create a 'Highlighted Ad' - this will make your ad stand out in listings by shading the background.
  • Have your ad show up as a 'Top Ad' - Your ad will show up at the top of the search results page, for the period of time you've purchased. Your ad will also have a shaded background to ensure it 'doubly' stands out!
  • Your ad contents - make your heading as catchy as possible and ensure your ad description paints a picture of your items best attributes

I did not receive a confirmation email. What should I do?

Confirmation emails are sent out if you've created an account with or if you've paid to add enhancements to your ad. In the event that you do not receive a confirmation email after doing one of the actions above, email support to have the confirmation resent to you.

Why was my ad removed from the site? represents an open and free marketplace and as a result, we do not support language, which could be offensive to our users, nor do we accept images that represent lewd activity. How long will my ad run?

Your ad will remain online for 30 days. If you create an account on, you will be able to renew and or update your ad contents from your 'My Accounts' page.

How much does it cost to place an ad?

Online ads are free in most regions and categories on Most categories and regions offer free online ads where sellers only pay for ad enhancements such as a Featured Listing, Ranking your Ad at the Top, Highlighting your Ad or publishing an ad in one of our affiliated newspapers.

How do I report abusive or offensive ads?

If you see an ad that you feel is abusive or offensive and as a result does not align with Terms of Use , simply click the 'Inappropriate Ad' button at the bottom of the ads detailed listing page.

How do I report a possible fraudulent ad?

If you feel that either someone selling an item or buying an item from you may be involved in a scam, simply click the "Offensive Ad" button at the bottom of the ads detailed listing page or email us.

How does placing a Job ad work on your site?

When placing a recruitment ad, you are automatically included in our print and online bundles. These bundles give you a listing on as well as a print ad in the newspaper of your choice. Rates and the duration of an ad ran in our affiliated newspapers range, depending on the region you select. After building the online version of your ad, you will be directed to an 'Ad Enhancement' page where you can make your online ad more prominent. You will also be able to customize your print ad, based on the information you added to your online listing. Note that doing this will not change your online ad.

What will happen to my information if I elect to delete my account?

Deleting your account will remove all of your profile information and ads, from the website and your data will not be recoverable. It is also important to note that no potential buyer will be able to view the ads related to your deleted account online, nor will you be able to manage any of the ads you have placed and or saved to this account. Deleting your account on will not affect any of the print ads you have running in any or our associated newspapers. If you want to stop a print ad from being published, you will have to contact the office of the affiliated newspaper, where your print ad is scheduled.

How do I ensure the photo in my ad looks its best?

We make it very easy for you to upload photos to In fact, you are able to upload seven photos at no charge. We accept .jpg, .gif, and .png files and will accept photos up to 4MB in size. If you are looking for the "ideal" photo parameters, try using a .jpg file format and reduce the size of the photo to 580KB.
