THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF NORTH KAWARTHA NOTICE OF AN OPEN HOUSE AND PUBLIC MEETING FOR A PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT (REGULATE BOATHOUSES) TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of North Kawartha will hold an Open House on September 7th, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. in the Wilson Park Community Centre at 66 Northey's Bay Road, Woodview to consider a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment under Section 34 of The Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990, as amended. A Statutory Public Meeting will be held on September 17th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Township of North Kawartha Municipal Office at 280 Burleigh Street, Aspley. THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is to amend Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. 26-2013 by amending and incorporating new definitions and provisions as they pertain to marine facilities and boathouses. The proposed Zoning By-law Amendment would prohibit new on-land and in-water boathouses on those lands and waterbodies within the jurisdiction of the Township of North Kawartha. LANDS AFFECTED: The proposed amendment is considered to have application to all lands and waterbodies under the jurisdiction of the Township of North Kawartha and therefore a key map has not been provided. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A copy of the draft amendment can be obtained from the Township of North Kawartha website at https://www.northkawartha.ca/en/our-services/building-and-property-planning-public-notices.aspx as of the date of this notice. A copy of the draft amendment is also available for review at the Township of North Kawartha Planning Department during regular office hours (Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 4:30 pm). PUBLIC COMMENTS AND CONTACT INFORMATION: ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make verbal or written representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment. Written submissions in respect of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment should be directed to the Clerk of the Township of North Kawartha and may be submitted in person or by mail to the address below or by email to planning@northkawartha.ca. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of North Kawartha before the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Township of North Kawartha to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal. If a person or public body does not make an oral submission at the public meeting, or make written submissions to the Township of North Kawartha before the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party. NOTIFICATION: Anyone wishing to be notified of Council's decision in respect of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment, is required to file a written request with the Clerk of the Township of North Kawartha.
